LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Cantor Gaming opened a temporary sports and race book this morning at Tropicana Las Vegas while it continues to build a permanent facility.
The company expects construction on its 4,200-square-foot sports and race book to be completed next month. Until then, Lee Amaitis, president and chief executive of Cantor, said guests could try the company's eDeck mobile gaming device in the Ambhar Lounge at the Tropicana.
"The new race and sports book ... will bring our revolutionary sports wagering technology to the all new Tropicana on the Las Vegas Strip," said Amaitis, in a statement.
He said the company's in-Running, which allows customers to place wagers during sporting events, would be available in the temporary facility.
The Tropicana is in the process of completing a $180 million renovation, which includes a new casino and 60,000 square feet of meeting space.
"Cantor Gaming's cutting-edge technology appeals to the Tropicana Las Vegas gamer, so we're excited to attract players to experience the completely transformed Tropicana," Richard Day, Tropicana's director of player services, said in a statement.
Based in Las Vegas, Cantor Gaming is an affiliate of the financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald L.P. Cantor also operates race and sports books at the Venetian, Palazzo, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, M Resort Spa Casino and at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
