Online Gaming in Tanzania

The Gaming Control Act was amended in December 1999, legalizing online gambling in Tanzania and providing a licensing system for fixed-odds wagering, sports betting, simulated games and lotteries.

In 2003, the Gaming Board of Tanzania was formed to oversee all gambling in the nation. Eventually, the licensing of online casinos was permitted. In October 2013, the first online casino licensed by Tanzania, iplay8casino.com, launched.

Residents of Tanzania are not allowed to play at iplay8casino.com.
