Manila Standard Today reports that while many companies in Asia are reigning in casino construction plans, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation is pushing forward at full speed with its $10 billion project.
The state-run gambling company said construction of its Entertainment City on Manila Bay will commence in the start of 2009.
“We see no problems hampering construction,” a company official told the paper. “As far as we can see, our project is not affected by the financial crisis.”
