Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, has announced the first portion of its $925 million, 64,000 square-foot expansion will open Aug. 29.

Located in southeastern Connecticut, Casino of the Wind will boast a 42-table poker room, more than 650 slot machines and 28 table games, along with a deli and restaurant.

"We are very excited to reveal Casino of the Wind to the world," said Mitchell G. Etess, president and chief executive of Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, in a prepared statement. "The Rockwell Group, who have been our architects since the beginning in 1996, have outdone themselves. This may be their best work yet."
