Ad Calls for 'Thoughtful Regulation' in U.S.

11 December 2008

The Poker Players Alliance placed an advertisement in several Capitol Hill newspapers calling for the United States Congress to “enact thoughtful regulation of online poker,” the group said in a prepared statement.

According to the nonprofit organization, the ad will appear in Roll Call, The Politico and The Hill this week and shows a hand holding out a royal flush with the words “It’s time for some straight talk.” floating above. Below the image, a five-paragraph statement from the Poker Players Alliance calls for regulation of online poker as “the only truly effective way to protect the consumers and collect billions in tax revenue.”

At the bottom of the ad, the group reiterates its point with the statement: “No matter how you cut the deck, regulation is the answer.”
