An index that measures the performance of 16 global gaming suppliers reached a new low as of January 2009, according to the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers.
Based on a 100-point value as of January 2005, the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers’ index, or the AGEM index, is computed based on each company’s month-end stock price and weighted based on approximation of market capitalization.
The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers said that in January, the index fell to 66.30 -- a decline of 17.1 percent versus December 2008. The drastic decline was partially due to the declining stock value of Lottomatica S.p.A., Konami Corporation and International Game Technology.
