Ainsworth Narrows Loss in Interim Results

20 February 2009

On Wednesday, Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd. reported a $2.8 million loss for the six months ending in Dec. 31, 2008, which was less than the $10.8 million loss the gaming supplier posted in the previous year’s corresponding period.

Revenues were at $20.6 million -- down year-over-year by 5 percent. Domestic revenue rose by 8 percent, and revenues in Queensland and Victoria increased by 85 percent, the company said.

The Australian company said it continues to refine its range of products under its development program, and that these strategies are now resulting in improved product performance.

Additionally the company added that new smoking legislation in New South Wales has continued to impact revenues.
