The South African National Gambling Board has released a report which says South Africa could capture a $1 billion a year international export market if it regulates Internet gaming and positions South Africa as a home for international Internet gaming operators.
To make South Africa a more attractive option the report recommends that South African tax rates be
made more attractive than those of competing countries, relying on a large number of top international and local operators paying corporate tax to the government rather than a small number of only domestic operators paying a high level of gaming taxes.
