American Wagering Signs Bellagio Contract

LAS VEGAS -- American Wagering, Inc. (Nasdaq: BETM) has announced the signing of a contract for their Computerized Bookmaking Systems (CBS) unit to supply race and sports book equipment to the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Bellagio, owned by Mirage Resorts (NYSE: MIR) is expected to open on October 15, 1998. American Wagering will provide software, wagering terminals and communications equipment to Bellagio.

The company also announced the signing of a contract to provide software, a central computer system and wagering terminals to operate a race and sports book at the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno and to also operate a remote race and sports book at the Silver Legacy Hotel and Casino in Reno. The Silver Legacy is a joint venture between Eldorado and Circus Circus Enterprises (NYSE: CIR).

The total value of the combined contracts exceeds $500,000.

Commenting on the CBS contracts, American Wagering, Inc. CEO and Chairman Victor Salerno said, "The signing of the Bellagio contract kicks off what we expect to be an active period for our CBS division. The opening of the next wave of mega-resorts in Las Vegas coupled with our recent purchase of certain assets of Advanced Computer Services gives us optimism that we will provide the bulk of the race and sports book equipment and software to the new casinos."
