American Wagering and Inland, two U.S. companies with interests in both traditional and interactive wagering, have whipped up a little marketing agreement in which Inland's subsidiary, Worldwide Media Holdings, will provide Internet marketing for Megasports, American Wagering's Australian sports betting service.
The deal calls for Worldwide Media to provide a storefront display for Megasports.com.au at Worldwide's "Las Vegas At Home" web site, a portal designed to drive traffic to Inland casinos. Links to the Australian-based sportsbook will also be strategically placed throughout the site. Worldwide Media will additionally provide Internet and traditional media-based marketing to provide exposure for the Megasports.
Inland Entertainment Corp. is a consultant in the Indian gaming industry and the primary consultant for Barona Casino near San Diego, Calif., but it also operates several Internet casinos, including Casino Australian and Kenny Rogers Casino.
Nevada-based American Wagering Inc. a high-profile bridge between online and traditional gambling. The company operates Leroy's Horse and Sports Place, a licensed bookmaker for 48 sportsbooks in Nevada, as well as CBS, a supplier of sports and race book equipment and software. It also operates its Megasports wagering system on the Internet via an Australian subsidiary.
"Being the only Nevada licensed gambling company operating an interactive wagering site gives us an advantage when negotiating with traditional sports betting and gambling operators from outside of the United States," American Wagering CEO Victor Salerno said. He also indicated that the company would be seeking a number of additional strategic alliances.
American Wagering execs will hold meetings throughout Australia in coming weeks to market the Megasports website.
