LAS VEGAS -- The Bookmakers Licensing Committee "BLC" in Australia has notified MegaSports Pty Ltd., the Australian subsidiary of American Wagering, Inc. (Nasdaq: BETM), that its application for an Internet bookmaking license has been approved pending the outcome of a probity checking process.

The goal is for Australia to become the International hub for the Mega$ports betting system. Australia will represent the company's Mega$ports Internet Wagering hub for accepting interactive bets on the Internet from bettors around the world excluding the U.S. market.

"The Australian license will be our entry into the International market," said Vic Salerno, CFO of American Wagering, Inc. "We are happy to have received notice from the BLC for the fourth and final license available in the ACT for Internet wagering. In respect to our Italian joint venture, the Italian regulators are in the process of finalizing sports betting regulations. We eagerly await the finalization of our joint venture with SNAI Servizi after the regulations are adopted. Also, we are continuing to explore and have entered into discussions in other International markets."
