Even though Las Vegas and Atlantic City are sputtering along as purse strings tighten, some lotteries in the United States have seen an increase in instant scratch-off sales as well as sales in other lotto games, according to the Associated Press.
The news service says that half of all states with lotteries have seen an increase in sales during the past six months.
“(States) are consciously working with us to launch new programs, offer tickets at new price points and increase the number of retail outlets,” Lorne Weil, chief executive of Scientific Games Corporation, told the Associated Press.
