Another Bad Rap for Net Gambling

16 March 1999
New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is apparently picking up where Dennis Vacco, his predecessor, left off. The New kid in town has a web page where you can report illegal activities on the Internet. Among the activities listed is gambling.

The form, located at http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/online/internet.html, reads:

"The Internet's rapid expansion has led to high amounts of fraud and crime that go largely unreported. Computer crimes can be stopped. Please report any site(s) or e-mail that you suspect of being illegal Internet activity below (for example: consumer scams, child pornography, gambling, and pyramid schemes).

"If you have received suspect e-mail, please save it on your computer, print it if possible and either mail a hard copy to us at the above address, or submit this completed form with the necessary information."
