It appears that yet another lawsuit has been filed on behalf of players who lost money on online gaming sites. IGN is checking out the specifics but, according to our sources, an attorney has filed a class action suit against MasterCard and VISA on behalf of players who owe the credit card companies money that they subsequently lost gambling online.
One of the plaintiffs' attorneys is Randy Hopper of Zimmerman and Reed in Minnesota. He told IGN that the suits were filed in US District Courts covering the states of Alabama, Wisconsin and Minnesota. They filed the suits against MasterCard and VISA to "hold them liable and enjoin them to cancel the indebtedness" of the gamblers.
This should be another attention-getter for the credit card companies. Stay tuned for more details after we track down the suits as they were filed in these courts.
