On Thursday Betfair announced that Tony McAlister would join the betting exchange in Jan. 19 as chief technology officer.
Mr. McAlister will be replacing Rorie Devine, who left the company in May. According to Betfair, while looking after a group of 300 information technology engineers, Mr. McAlister will also be required to enhance the customer experience.
Prior to his new post, Mr. McAlister spent the last three years as chief technology officer of Motricity Inc., a content-management vendor. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. McAlister was chief technology officer at Vodafone Group.
