Boss Media Signs Deal with Swedish Government

14 April 2000
Boss Media's newest client is a government run casino. The company yesterday announced that it is creating customized Internet casino software for Svenska Spel, a Swedish-government owned gaming company. The software will be used primarily to market four traditional casinos to be operated by Svekska Spel's subsidiary, Casino Cosmopol, company officials said.

"An Internet casino is an important strategic move in the launch of international casinos in Sweden," said Meg Tiveus, CEO of Svenska Spel. "As a modern company, we must stay well ahead of developments, and I'm convinced that this venture will prove successful."

"We are extremely proud that Svenska Spel and Casino Cosmopol have chosen Boss Media as their supplier. Svenska Spel is our first customer to be a government gaming corporation, and we hope for a long and rewarding period of cooperation," says Lars Mansson, Boss Media's CEO.

Players initially will not be able to place real money bets on the Internet casino. Instead, it will initially serve as an introductory "game school" for players considering play at one of Sweden's four traditional, land-based casinos. The first casino should open in the city of Sundsvall later this fall.

Casino maintenance facilities will be placed in Gotland, Sweden and online maintenance assistance will be provided by Boss Media's Vaxjo office.
