888 Care, Launches Responsible Site

888.com has collaborated with GamCare to launch a new Web site dedicated to responsible gaming. The new site, called 888 Responsible, offers information about responsible gaming practices, dealing with problem gambling, preventing underage gambling, charity activity and more.

Cantor in Sweden

Sweden-based 24hPoker has signed an agreement with U.K.-based Cantor Gaming, provider of online and mobile gaming services, through which Cantor will launch new poker sites on the 24hPoker network. Cantor will establish its presence on the network by introducing pub-casino.co.uk by the end of January 2008, followed by tooncasino.co.uk.

U.K. newspaper Metro in conjunction with St. Minver has launched a suite of online gaming products via its Web site, metro.co.uk. The site will offer online casino, bingo and poker games.

And U.K.-based online bingo comparison site BingoBase.com has partnered with the Daily Star Online to offer a co-branded Web site featuring objective reviews of the United Kingdom's bingo destinations and the latest bingo offers. "The Daily Star is a brand that our existing users identify with and we hope this partnership brings in a new audience to the ever popular joys of online bingo," said BingoBase Managing Director Raj Ramanandi.

Macau is Up

According to the South China Morning Post, gambling revenues for Macau in October jumped 56 percent from a year earlier, crossing the $1 billion mark for the first time month-on-month. Casinos in the Special Administrative Region took $1.15 billion, besting May's record by 23 percent.

A.C. is Down

Figures released on Tuesday by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission reveal that Atlantic City casinos continue to hemorrhage cash, blamed mostly on slots. Revenue for the 11 casinos in the Eastern U.S. gambling town slipped nearly 8 percent last month from November 2006. Slot revenue dropped 12.2 percent, while table game winnings were up 4.4 percent.
