According to the Hindustan Times, thousands of casino employees staged protests in downtown Kathmandu, Nepal, on Sunday in opposition of a senior casino official's arrest.
On Saturday, police arrested Ram Krishna Chakradhar, general manager of Casino Anna, for interrogation.
The casino was raided on Oct. 25 because the government suspected Nepali citizens were engaged in gambling, which according to Hindustan Times, Nepali citizens are not allowed to gamble in the country's nine casinos.
“The government is now all out to destroy the casino industry,” Rajen Chetri, a casino employee, told Hindustan Times on Sunday.
