Chinese Lotto Prediction Site Launches

30 July 2002

Shanghai Yastock Investment Consulting Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Genesis Technology Group Inc., has launched a Web site that predicts outcomes of various fields of Chinese gaming.

The new Chinese-language only Web site, www.ZC8888.com, includes software that predicts the outcome of Italian, British and other football games, as well as Chinese lotteries.

"C8888 is the first online proprietary technology to offer predictions for a variety of lotteries to be launched in China," said James Wang, CEO and president of Genesis. "We believe the market for online gaming software has tremendous growth potential in the coming years as China legalizes more aspects of gaming."

The number of people that play lotteries has grown exponentially in recent years, and many agree that the gaming market in China may become one of the largest markets in the world. The number of lottery players in China has increased from 10 million in 2000 to over 40 million this year. It is expected that more than 100 million people will regularly play a variety of lotteries in China during the next couple of years.

With this increase of lottery players comes an increase in revenue. The amount of money spent on gaming in China has grown from $40 million annually two years ago to $200 million this year.

"Since we started beta testing our Web site three months ago, we've attracted over 40,000 unique visitors," said Robert Zhuang, president of Yastock. "Over 1,000 visitors have signed up for membership and over 100 have paid a fee to become VIP members."

VIP members pay between $10 and $100 per person for a one-year membership.

To reach their goal of more than one million paid members, Yastock is marketing its Web site to its database of more than 30 million e-mail addresses and via traditional media such as newspaper, radio and TV.
