Community Spends $360 Per Adult on Gambling, Commission Says

Recent figures from the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation reveal that “pokie” or electronic gaming machines garnered $17.5 million from the Victorian community of Cardinia last year, or $360 per adult, according to Leader News.

The Australian newsgroup reported earlier this month that a survey or residents in the area were quick to support new restaurants and entertainment venues -- but none with gambling opportunities involved.
