Cripple Creek Casino Raises Betting Limits

19 December 2008

Century Casinos Inc. announced that a new gaming law has been approved in Cripple Creek , Colo., on Tuesday, raising betting limits from $5 to $100, to add roulette and craps tables and to allow casinos to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The law, which passed in a landslide vote, will become effective on July 2, 2009.

“Since the introduction of the smoking ban in January and the current poor economic conditions in Colorado, casino revenues have been declining,” said Erwin Haitzmann, co-chief executive of Century Casinos, in a prepared statement. “With the approval of this expanded gaming law the casino market in Cripple Creek is expected to improve to the benefit of the state's economy.”
