Crown Games Updates Gaming Software

24 June 2002

Crown Games is revamping its Web site with the addition of PBL Gaming Technology's version IGS 4.0, which boasts a plethora of additions and improvements to version 3.0.

The new software offers customers multilingual access, various payment options, the option of playing for fun or cash, faster service, a wider range of bet denominations and a library of more than 100 games.

"The PBLGT IGS platform scales to many thousands of concurrent players and delivers true multilingual software to the CrownGames.com players," said Dougall McBurnie, PBL's director of technology. "By true multilingual software, I mean gaming software with all graphics, text, audio, emails and dynamic player messaging translated to provide the player with a truly localized playing experience."

The new software is now available in traditional Chinese as well as simplified Chinese. By introducing software that is multilingual, McBurnie hopes to expand Crown's appeal to the Asian market.

Along with adding languages, Crown Games has also developed detailed operational procedures to manage player control issues to inhibit common problems associated with online gaming.

Version 4.0 employs the latest technology to eliminate problems such as underage players, player access from prohibited jurisdictions, problem gamblers, as well as player fraud and credit card fraud. The platform uses geo-location technology, IP filtering and country-based credit card rejection algorithms to restrict prohibited jurisdictions, McBurnie said.

"The player is provided with a vast array of player configurable options to manage their play levels. This includes everything from establishing daily turnover limits to maximum bet by game to being able to self-exclude themselves from the site," he said.

PBL's software is certified by the Tasmanian Gaming Commission Internet Gaming Technical Requirements Version 2.0 and the Tasmanian Gaming Commission Player Protection Standards Version 2.0.

McBurnie added that PBLGT IGS is also tested by the stringent Vanuatu Internet Gaming Regulations at BMM, the Australian accredited testing facility.

In the past, PBL exclusively supplied Crown Games with its software, but now PBL has strategically expanded. PBL now makes its software available to all online casino operators, provided they abide by the rules of their jurisdictions.
