Delaware and N.J. Consider Legalizing Sports Betting

16 December 2008

The Press of Atlantic City reported last week that both New Jersey and Delaware are weighing the benefits of making sports wagering legal.

A New Jersey State Senate panel used the Super Bowl as a prime example of how Las Vegas is scoring big from legal wagering and how Atlantic City is missing out on profits. The measure, which is being sponsored by three state senators, is headed for a full senate vote.

In January, the Delaware General Assembly is reportedly going to consider allowing sports betting in the state as well.
