Desktop Conference: Brian Sandova

15 June 2001
Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn has signed a bill that sets up the framework for regulating Internet gambling in that state, but don't expect Nevada casinos to be launching real-money online casinos anytime soon. The future of Net betting in Nevada now lies in the hands of the Nevada Gaming Commission, and before the Commission can establish a regulatory system--a process that would likely take several months--it must first determine whether online gambling in Nevada is a violation of federal law. In this RealAudio interview, IGN Publisher Sue Schneider speaks with Commission Chairman Brian Sandoval about the Commission's perspective on the issue and what needs to happen for Net betting in Nevada to become a reality.
