World Interactive Gaming Corporation (WIGC), an online casino operator based in New York was recently ordered by Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to pay $1.8 million in restitution to defrauded investors, plus a further $4.5 million in penalties. Since then, IGN has obtained a copy of the motion filed July 12:

Upon the forgoing papers, and this Court's finding of liability against respondent (see, Decision and Order dated July 22, 1999), it is hereby ordered that the petitioner's motion for restitution, costs, penalties and interest is granted without opposition.
Accordingly, it is
ORDERED that petitioner is granted an award of $1,843,665.00 with interest against each respondent jointly and severally on the claim of restitution for illegal practices under the Martin Act; it is further
ORDERED that petitioner is granted an award of $250,000.00 in penalties, pursuant to Executive Law § 63(12) against each individual respondent, and $500,000.00 against each corporate respondent for violation of New York General Business Law § 352-o (failing to properly register as seller/dealer
of securities), the federal Wire Act, Travel Act and Wagering Paraphernalia Act (illegal communications), New York Penal Law §225.05 (illegally promoting gambling activity), and New York Business Corporation Law § 1301 (operating illegally as an unregistered foreign corporation); it is further
ORDERED that pursuant to CPLR § 8101, petitioner is granted an award of $2,000.00 in cost against each respondent; it is further
ORDERED that pursuant to CPLR § 8303(a)(6), petitioner is granted an award of $2,000.00 as an additional allowance against each respondent.
Settle judgement on notice.
