24 November 2015
(PRESS RELEASE) -- DraftKings has announced that it has retained Exiger, a global regulatory risk and compliance firm, to conduct a review of all aspects of the company's financial, operational, compliance and risk controls, and to help develop best practices that ensure DraftKings remains at the forefront of safety and consumer protection in the fantasy sports industry.
"Exiger represents the gold standard in corporate compliance and integrity assurance," said Jason Robins, CEO of DraftKings. "We are opening our operations to Exiger for a deep and detailed review to help us ensure we are employing best practices and are conducting our business with the highest compliance standards.
"Exiger's expertise and recommendations will help us continue to offer safe, fun and fair games to the millions of people who enjoy playing them."
Roy Pollitt, a former FBI special agent, will lead Exiger's engagement with DraftKings. At the FBI, Pollitt focused on organized crime and complex money laundering schemes. Among other roles, Pollitt was the lead case agent in the United States government's seven-year investigation into the online gaming industry, which culminated in the prosecution of Full Tilt, PokerStars.com and Absolute Poker.
"We look forward to working with DraftKings and have already begun assessing the company's operations and integrity controls," Pollitt said. "I am encouraged by the commitment from DraftKings' senior management to provide our team with full access and transparency."
Exiger works with organizations and regulators around the world to assess compliance with defined best practices and other relevant mandates. Among its current assignments is the worldwide monitorship of a major international bank, for which Exiger is working on behalf of the United States Department of Justice and other regulators.
