Dutch Gaming Authority fines Bingoal

5 June 2023
(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa) imposed a fine of 400,000 euros on gambling provider Bingoal Nederland BV. Bingoal was fined because it has advertisements aimed at young adults (18-24 years). That is prohibited.
The Ksa started an investigation following a broadcast of the TV program Kassa , which showed that between October 2021 and March 2022, Bingoal sent advertising messages to users aged 18 to 24. That is not allowed, because young adults are a vulnerable target group. The brains of young people are still developing. As a result, they are extra susceptible to a gambling addiction.
This fine follows four previously issued fines in the context of the same investigation. The Ksa has fined a total of five providers of games of chance for advertising aimed at young people. With this fine, the investigation has been completed.
