Elixir Grows at Top Line, Suffers at Bottom

17 November 2008

Elixir Gaming Technologies Inc., which supplies gaming technology and machines across Asia, grew third-quarter income 28 percent year over year but reported a net loss of $7.3 million.

Machine income grew markedly to $1.1 million from $131,356 a year ago, but revenue from table-game products dropped to $417,304 from $1 million.

The company said it expects to report additional revenue of $2.7 million in the fourth quarter, which derives from its deal to supply Melco Crown Entertainment with radio frequency identification casino chips -- these for Melco's planned City of Dreams casino resort in Macau.
