First Pan-African Lottery Drawing Approaches

9 February 2009

Africamillions, the pan-African lottery, said it will unveil its first game in the second quarter of 2009.

BR Gaming Africa, exclusive operator of the Africamillions through a partnership with the African Association of State Lotteries, compares the lottery to models like Euro Millions and Mega Millions that already exist in Europe and the United States.

With an overall goal to reach the largest possible countries in Africa in a multi-jurisdictional lottery, the company said it already works with Cape Verde, Ivory Cost, Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali, which includes about 70 million people.

“We are very happy to have partnered with BR Gaming,” said Mr. Baïla Wane, the African Association of State Lotteries' general secretary, in a prepared statement. “The solutions offered by BR Gaming have allowed us to respond effectively to the various technological, legal, fiscal and financial challenges.”
