Already North America's largest resort casino, Foxwoods is opening a new $700 million hotel-casino complex in partnership with MGM Grand. The 30-story complex boasts a performing arts theater, restaurants, stores, convention space and the largest ballroom in the Northeast U.S.
Foxwoods, which is located in Connecticut and owned by the Mashantucket Pequot tribe, currently draws about 40,000 visitors per day. Most visitors come from the neighboring state of Massachusetts, but management plans to market more aggressively in New York.
