Funding For Problem Gambling to Double in Future

Gambling Commission chairman Brian Pomeroy has highlighted the need for a national strategy to determine what research, preventative education and treatment programmes are needed to tackle problem gambling. Pomeroy also predicted that costs will almost double in the future as a greater number of problem gamblers, prompted by gambling awareness campaigns, present themselves for treatment.
