Gala Meets Racecourses to Talk About Tote Bid

Last Friday Neil Goulden, chief executive of Gala Coral hosted a meeting with David Thorpe, chairman of the Racecourse Association and Mark Elliott, chief executive of Arena Leisure, over the prospect of placing a joint bid for the Tote, reports the Daily Telegraph.

If made the bid could be in the neighborhood of £300 million.

The Tote has 540 shops and an exclusive seven-year license for pool betting.
