Gaming Business Media Launches Amusements Title

14 October 2008

The publishers of Coinslot International, Casino Review and Betting Business are adding another name to their distribution list with Games World – a 15,000 circulation monthly business publication focusing on international amusements, coin-op and low-stake gaming sectors.

Owned by Gaming Business Media and endorsed by Clarion Gaming, the new publication will be distributed to attendees of the 2008 ATEI and those pre-registering for 2009 as its international media partner. According to a prepared statement from Gaming Business Media, this makes it the highest circulation coin-op title in history. The first issue will be published Monday, Nov. 3.

“Our strategy is to deliver the very best editorial coverage to the very best international database of buyers in this industry,” said John Sullivan, publisher of Gaming Business Media, in a prepared statement. “Our advertising rates will be competitive, and we will be offering incentives to all ATEI/IGE exhibitors.”

The Gaming World staff will be produced by a team of writers headed by Alex Lee, who has served as editor of Intergame and features editor of Coinslot during his 18 years in journalism.

“We will be bringing a fresh and invigorating approach to the way in which the international industry is reported and represented,” Mr. Lee said. “Games World will challenge convention when needed but will also take account of the fundamentals which have helped define this industry.”

Karen Cooke, head of exhibitions of Clarion Gaming, said in a statement that the company has been impressed by the concept behind Games World.

“The magazine will provide an invaluable communications tool for every amusements and gaming business that has an international remit, not least our own products, notably ATEI and the International Gaming Expo, which attract in excess of 100 nationalities to Earls Court every year,” Ms. Cooke said.
