20 January 2009

Last week Gaming Partners International Corporation, a gaming supplier, secured orders to supply casino chips and radio-frequency identification technology at two casinos.

According to the Las Vegas-based company, orders from the two casinos -- City of Dreams in Macau and Newport City in the Philippines -- exceed $8 million with the radio-frequency identification accounting for 80 percent of the total.

“The continued confidence in (Gaming Partners International) and our (radio-frequency identification) products by our leading customers all over the world and particularly in Asia is extremely encouraging as we strive to provide creative casino currency tracking solutions to meet the specific needs of our valued clients and their players,” said Gerard P. Charlier, the company’s president and chief executive, in a prepared statement. “These orders also significantly strengthen our backlog for a positive start for 2009.”
