Grand Virtual, Inc. Introduces Newest Software Version in Ten Languages

7 October 1998

Grand Virtual, Inc. announced last week the release of its newest casino software version in ten languages and with 3-D graphics, 36-degree movement, a wide variety of games, conventionally embedded and secure payment systems and a full range of multimedia effects.

The multi-lingual aspect of the software, in particular, will enable gamers worldwide to visit Internet casinos, operated by licensees of Grand Virtual's software business systems, and play for real money while experiencing virtual casino entertainment in the language of their choice, including German, French Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and English.

As a developer and marketer of turnkey casino systems geared toward the global nature of the Internet market, Grand Virtual Inc. has executed a massive translation and programming effort in bringing its new multi-lingual software to market. Critical to this effort was having access to an international labor pool which it found in Cambridge, MA, where the company recently relocated its headquarters at the new Massachusetts Institute of Technology Office Park.

"We consider our location here in Cambridge a key competitive advantage with respect to access to intellectual capital," Grand Virtual Director of Sales and Marketing Stephen Havran said. "With our proximity to schools such as Harvard and MIT, we benefit from the local concentration of top talent with the unique combination of programming, Internet, communication, and other skills that enable us to most effectively develop and market the high quality, end-user-driven products that we do... Our core competency, from which current and future licensees will benefit, is our people and their ability to help us continually create an excellent value proposition for international gaming enthusiasts. That goes a long way toward explaining why our licensees' customers, time and again, are highly satisfied repeat players, not something most virtual casinos can boast."

The company plans to add more languages and additional company-specific casino and other games of chance preferred by specific countries. Multi-player, hand-held, and in-room gaming systems are also being developed to meet the unique operator demands in delivering the games to international customers.
