W. Bruce Turner, the new chairman of GTECH Holding corporation, told shareholders at yesterday's annual meeting that the company hopes to bring its expertise in processing lottery sales to the new field of interactive television.
Turner said that while he intends to reassert GTECH's dominance in the lottery business, he also said that the company's technology that enables it to process up to 100,000 lottery transactions a second can be
put to good use for interactive television. "We are positioning the company's technology offerings to be part of this next wave of media," Turner told his shareholders.
