On Monday, Gtech Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., announced that it would be providing the New Jersey Lottery with new systems and products following a competitive procurement.
Expected to gain revenues of approximately $105 million during the seven-year contract term, Gtech said under the terms it would provide the state with software solutions, approximately 6,200 new online lottery terminals and an IP-communications network. Additionally, Gtech said it expects to install 4,100 self-service ticket checkers and provide telemarketing, warehousing and distribution services for the lottery’s instant tickets.
“Gtech is privileged to work hand-in-hand with the lottery providing a holistic approach to the marketplace, through player and retailer trend analyses, and learning from our global footprint and our new media subsidiaries who are well-versed in interactive offerings and exciting new game content,” said Jaymin B. Patel, Gtech's President and chief executive, in a prepared statement.
The contract, which the company said will to be finalized sometime in January, includes three one-year extension options.
