On Friday International Game Technology announced the appointment of David E. Roberson to its board of directors, a decision made at the company’s Dec. 16 quarterly meeting.
Mr. Roberson is the senior vice president and general manager of the Storage Works Division of Hewlett-Packard Company. He joined the company in 2007, and previously held the positions of president and chief executive of Hitachi Data Systems Corporation. During his 26 years at Hitachi, Mr. Roberson also served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
“We are pleased to have David join our distinguished board,” said Thomas J. Matthews, IGT chairman and chief executive. “His former board affiliations and extensive leadership experience in the computer technology industry along with his legal background should serve our company well.”
Mr. Roberson’s post will be effective upon obtaining regulatory approval, the company said.
