After working at International Game Technology, or IGT, for more than 20 years, Robert A. Bittman, executive vice president of product strategy, will retire on Dec. 31, 2008, the company said in a prepared statement.

According to the gaming supplier, Mr. Bittman will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors, a position which he has held since May 2000.

”Bob has been a very big part of IGT’s success over the years, and we are pleased that he will remain affiliated with the company through his board activities and duties,” said Thomas J. Matthews, the company’s chairman and chief executive, in a prepared statement.

During Mr. Bittman’s tenure, he served as executive vice president of product strategy since 2003. Before that, he held the positions of executive vice president of product development, vice president of marketing, director of marketing, and marketing research analyst. He came to IGT after spending five years in various slot-related positions at Caesars Tahoe.

”My heart will always be with IGT and with the many people I have worked with at IGT, and I look forward to continuing to serve the company,” said Mr. Bittman in a statement.
