CARLSBAD, Calif. -- International Lottery & Totalizator Systems, Inc. (ILTS) signed an agreement valued at approximately US$1 million with a new customer, the Singapore Turf Club.

Under the contract ILTS will provide DATAMARK wagering terminals and associated software for on-track use. The terminals will be built and delivered in the fourth quarter of 1998. Following a trial period, Singapore Turf Club may order as many as 900 additional terminals for installation at a new racecourse currently under construction.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome the Singapore Turf Club as a customer," ILTS President Mark Michalko said. "Together with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, ILTS now provides wagering equipment to the two premier racing operations in the region. Coupled with our existing lottery and racing business in Australia and other Asian countries, our position in the region continues to strengthen and our status as a leading on-line system supplier is enhanced."

The Singapore Turf Club, founded as the Singapore Sporting Club in 1842, has been involved in racing operations in Singapore for more than 150 years. Similar to the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Singapore Turf Club also operates a lottery game on their on-track and off-track terminal network. Racing operations are currently at the Bukit Timah Racecourse, considered to be one of the finest racing complexes in the world. Construction of the new racecourse is to be completed in 1999.
