Inquiry into NetPlay Scratch Cards

23 June 2008

NetPlay TV, the interactive television gambling company, said today that all of its games comply with the United Kingdom Advertising Standards Authority following weekend news reports that said two of its scratch card games were under investigation for breach of the Gambling Act.

United Kingdom newspaper Mail on Sunday reported that the AIM-listed company faces inquiry from government authorities because one promotional card claims to offer a guaranteed prize but entry requires participants to send 30p to cover the cost of NetPlay's postage.

The other card, called "fast cash" leads players to believe they have won a major cash or luxury goods prize, but the fine print says that only £5 or a watch has been won, the paper said.

"The company is assisting Phone Pay Plus, the United Kingdom's premium rate ruling body, with their planned review of the premium rate subscription industry which is welcomed and supported by the company," the company said.
