Dear Mr. Godrey,

RE: LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROVISION OF TELEPHONE AND/OR INTERNET GAMING SERVICES BY A CERTIFIED EPZ BUSINESS WITHIN AN EPZ

As requested, I have carefully read the opinions of the Hon. Attorney General and Mr. Norman Neal, Attorney-at-Law, on the captioned matter.

I concur in the said opinions and advise as follows:

Provided that -

  1. the EPZ Business is the holder of a Certificate of Compliance Issued by the EPZ Committee pursuant to Section 7 of the EPZ Act;

  2. the lines of business which the EPZ Business is authorised to conduct under its Certificate of Compliance includes telephone and/or internet gaming services, and

  3. the EPZ Business does not provide such services to persons resident in Belize,

no other licence or permit is required to conduct telephone and/or internet gaming business within or from within the EPZ.
