Shaun McCamley, 45, has over 22 years experience in the casino business and has just been named vice president, general manager international operations of online casino operator InterContinental Casinos. He will be responsible for opening up new markets and for forging links with land-based casino groups keen to get an early foothold in the online market.

"I can see no reason why the casino business should remain land-locked. Gambling regulation is already coming to the Internet and this trend will speed up. Those casino operators who move now and establish an early presence will gain the strongest positions in the market," McCamley said.

InterContinental, a Boss Media licensee, operates two Internet casinos: www.usacasino.com and www.newyorkcasino.com. Intercontinental Casinos is the trading name of ServiceNet Limited, the gaming arm of an international investment group based in Switzerland and Antigua with expertise in the gaming and computer industries.

"The Internet will have a fundamental effect on the future of the gambling industry, so I feel this is a perfectly natural move for me," McCamley said.

Based in Australia, McCamley worked most recently as CEO and general manager of major Far East-based consultancies and casino establishments. He trained as a dealer in London's most exclusive gaming venue, the Curzon House Club, moving on to international appointments as pit boss and inspector before being asked to establish and manage the now well-known International Room at the Burswood Resort Casino in Perth West Australia.

McCamley was later commissioned to set up two new casino establishments in Macedonia in the former Republic of Yugoslavia. In 1994 he was approached by one of Malaysia's largest corporations, the Metroplex Group, to set up and develop the company's newly-formed gaming division a Group Vice President Gaming Development. Before joining ServiceNet, he was casino general manager at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino in the Northern Marianas Islands.
