Intralot S.A., the Greece lottery technology and services supplier, has done a deal to operate the online arm of Loterj, the state lottery of Rio de Janeiro.
Specific terms and financial details of the contract were not disclosed, though the Loterj deal is Intralot's first formal partnership in Brazil and will be carried out via its subsidiary, Intralot do Brasil.
The first product, a fast-draw, keno-type game, will be available before yearend 2008 across 1,000 networked points of sale.
"The Brazlian market has been very appealing for INTRALOT, being one of the most important and fast developing markets, both on the regional, as well as on global basis," Konstantinos G. Antonopoulos, the company's chief executive, said in a prepared statement.
