Intralot, the Athens-based lottery operator and gaming technology provider, said on Thursday that has been granted a gaming license in Tasmania and will shortly begin operating a variety of lottery and instant games including Keno, Bingo and Pick 3.
The license expands Intralot's presence in Australia to three territories, including Victoria and Western Australia, where in 2007 it signed a contract with Lotterywest, the state-run lottery operator, for the implementation of an online lottery system.
"We are pleased to expand our presence to a third Australian state in such a short period of time," said Intralot CEO Constantine Antonopoulos in a statement. "Keno and instant tickets are extremely popular in Tasmania and Intralot is looking forward to increasing the gaming choices of the Tasmanian players."
Tasmania has a population of 500,000.
