Intralot intends to bid for Victoria's next wagering license for thoroughbred, harness, greyhound and sports, which begins in 2012.

The Greek company will enter the competition against the current license holder, Tabcorp, and interstate tote operator Tattersall's. The tender process begins next year.

Intralot CEO John Katakis told the Herald Sun it would also bid for the rights to control the monitoring of pokies in Victoria from 2012 onward.

Intralot won probity clearance in Victoria last year and was awarded a 10-year lottery license. The company has operations in more than 40 countries.
