Jamaica's government has approved plans to build a hotel and casino complex in Montego Bay, and Prime Minister Bruce Golding is expected to clarify the details of the plan during his presentation of the budget Tuesday, according to local newspaper The Jamaican Gleaner.
The Gleaner's sources indicate that the development company is "an international group with a good track record of operating hotels and casinos." If the rumors are true, the hotel will boast between 3,000 and 4,000 rooms, making it the largest on the island.
"This will be a major part of the Government's drive to create jobs and more jobs and spur economic growth," the Government sources added.
