Bally Technologies Inc. issued a statement today following this morning’s hearing in a patent infringement case involving Bally and International Game Technology, or IGT, which is awaiting a decision in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
According to the statement, the presiding judge said he will give a written order that will make some IGT wheel game patents invalid. It also said that the court would issue a written order invalidating certain claims of IGT's player-tracking patents.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the order would toss out IGT's infringement claims about Bally's bonus wheel-based slot machines.
