Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. has been sued by an Indian tribe in Kansas, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday. For ten years, the global casino chain had previously managed a casino owned by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
The lawsuit alleges Harrah’s violated a noncompete agreement when it considered developing a casino nearby.
"This whole issue came up when Harrah's decided to get into gaming in Kansas," Steve Ortiz, chairman of the tribe, told the news service. "Prior to filing the petition, the nation attempted to resolve the issues between the parties by negotiations but was not successful."
