Once thought to be a guaranteed money-maker, Ohio’s new keno offering doesn't seem to be bringing enough funds to mend the state’s budget woes, according to the Associated Press.
Mike Dolan, executive director of the Ohio Lottery, told the news agency that the weak economy is to blame as well as the road blocks that came with supplying the game in 2,000 locations in the state.
Keno launched in Ohio on Aug. 5 with 20,000 wagers places on that day. The game is legalized in 12 U.S. states and is considered an extension of Ohio’s already existing lottery.
